376The most powerful topic to me, which like much of what I talk about doesn’t feel like a typical, traditional business topic, is the business of you.

Newsflash: you are your own business. You are your ultimate business card. If you don’t take care of yourself and treat your life like a business, you won’t be good at any other kind. So this week we’re addressing some odds and ends: things in your life that seemingly have nothing to do with personal finance but can actually have everything to do with it.

Like making time to workout. After all, your health is your most important asset, and without it you can’t help anyone else. Period. Plus, staying healthy has all kinds of other benefits along with avoiding productivity-killing sick days: it gives you more energy, boosts your confidence, and allows for fun opportunities to meet new people.

We’re also going to talk about how to streamline your accounts (individual, joint, and “secret”—it’s a thing!) so that the business of you can run more smoothly whether it’s a party of one or two. You know by now that getting your financial house in order is the numero uno priority before playing house with your significant other, and some slight tweaks to how you break up your money will save you some major heartache down the road.

As my girl Britney says: “ya betta work, bitch!”
