#WCW: Josie Natori
Josie began her career not in fashion, but in finance, and was the 1st female VP in investment banking at Merrill Lynch. That alone earns her ‘Girl Crush Of The Week’ status– but of course, there’s more from this inspiring businesswoman. Almost four decades later, Josie’s brand is still around, and she is the head of a fashion empire that produces four different lines of everything from lingerie to home textiles.
I love Josie’s words of wisdom regarding starting out and having your own business:
“Your business needs a raison d’être. Be prepared to work 24 hours a day, and be willing to take risks. And you have to love it or you won’t succeed. As for mistakes, when you have your own company you don’t see it that way; you view them as learning experiences.”
My 3 takeaway lessons from Josie:
1. Be true to yourself, but keep evolving.
2. Do something you relate to, something that’s personal.
3. Make your own statement.
