Just like you have to get the animals straight in politics (Democrats are donkeys and Republicans are elephants), in business the bulls are positive and the bears are negative. If someone says they are “bearish,” they mean they are not particularly enthusiastic about something, while if they say they’re “bullish,” then they’re all in for it. (See also: Bullish)
